bringing in the new year 20111 with Jesus and Joshua!
had the most awesome day ever 2 bring in the new year!!!!!..: Josh took me on a romantic date to the beach, where fog hovered in the woods and melting snow dribbled on the path, sounded like high up in the mountains when theres snow melt...and ice shelf on the water made it look like we were at the north pole or alaska...then it started raining hard and we kissed in the rain on the beach! then, soaking wet, we went clothes shopping & josh let me buy some fun stuff (sock-slippers that are sooo soft & sweet deals form christmas discounts!) then home 4 a delicious meal with organic beef that Joshs bro caleb brought from georgia..and a late christmas celebration where we unwrapped presents...among other things, Josh handmade the most beautiful canvases I'd ever seen of all different sizes, & I got him a world map so he can pray for the whole world.. & then we watched ibethel.tv the message from Kris Valloton where he talked about him & his wife's romance story which was SO AWESOME and INSPIRING!!!! I saw angels while we watched in our room and on tv. and also Josh and felt sooo much peace permeate our house. then we had yummy snacks and played a game of chinese checkers...on a beautiful walnut board Joshs bro caleb made by hand for US! then to bring in the new year we watched onething.com's live ihop conference and worshipped the new year in....WOW GOD YOURE AWESOME!!!!!! This year is gonna be like no other. Get ready for lions and lionesses of God to take their authority, and set others free!!!! WHOO HOO!!!!

Trusting God...
So many people think God wants them to sacrifice their most precious things in order to please Him and are walking away from God because of it. They think God is a legalistic God who wants them to strive and work hard as a slave to please Him. They think He will never accept them because they've messed up. But here is what He really likes, this is what pleases Him: for Him to be our Daddy and us to be a trusting child in His arms. for us to approach Him based on what He's done on the cross, not our own works. To know He accepts us because of the blood of Jesus. Not anything we've done. Then to look in His eyes and feel His Daddy's Love for us. Then our love for Him and His love for us will motivate us to do the right thing. We will be close to Him. We will trust Him as a good daddy so will believe His promises He's made are true. We know the look in His eyes. We will know His guidance is only the best for us because He's good all the time, and trustworthy. And we won't want to break His heart. Surrender to God isn't about *us trying* to be more holy or acceptable to God. We can never earn it. It's about crawling up in Daddy's arm and resting. It's knowing that if my loving Daddy says "jump", I know He will catch me so I do it (am obedient) BECAUSE I know how much He loves me! There's those people who obey because they're afraid of the consequences, and they don't really know God or are close to him, but they live a life of legalism. Then there's those who don't obey at all because they think God is a punishing angry God, why would they want anything to do with Him? Then there's those who know God is a good Daddy and that Jesus took all their punishment, so they run into His arms and walk hand in hand with Him and change the world, knowing they have no righteousness of their own but that it all comes because of the blood of Jesus. "i desire mercy, not sacrifice." "i want to Guide you with my eye". "mercy triumphs over judgement" "there is now no condemnation in Christ Jesus" "without faith (childlike trust) it is impossible to please Him" "the ministry of reconciliation, not condemnation" ...how many people are far away from God because they don't realize just how much He loves them and they don't know they have a trust issue with God? All of our trust in Him & His finished work on the cross, not ourselves....He desires relationship more than anything else, and we cant be His friend without the Blood of Jesus! Thank you Lord that its not what I do but what You've already done. This is the Rest you desire for all of us.

last nite and 2day
WOW!! last night and 2day God did some really awesome stuff in my life. I went to the Ember Days/Ester Lyn concert (another guy sang...agh cant remember his name right now!). At ember days as jason and janell sang, i felt this childlikenes and this hunger for God stir up in me...deep weeping from the inside began to come out of me...healing and hunger mixed...the Presence of God showed up! Then the band Ester Lyn began to talk about a chinese orphan and orphans all around the world, and Josh and I were weeping...God began to stir up in us a supernatural compassion for the poor, children and the hurting. as this was happening, we had been dancing with a bunch of little kids by the stage. It was so beautiful!!! God's saying He's making us more childlike in worship. Also, we're going to be working with kids alot. In the concert, a little girl got healed of knee problem and some people who had unforgiveness got freedom. PTL!
Then this afternoon, HEIDI BakeR spoke at our school, bethel, to us the first year students. It was so powerful. What God had started in me (the deep weeping and stuff) continued during worship today and throughout her message. She said angels were coming in the room giving us blueprints for our destiny. At the same time, Josh and I knew we were going home after 1st year and God was going to begin to launch us into our destiny!! I was weeping on the floor as He showed me this and saw a scroll which the angel handed to me.
Then, the whole message was on John 15, about how God wants us to spend more time with Him--it is ONLY out of intimacy with Him that we are fruitful! If satan cant get us to fall morally, he will try to get us too busy for intimacy with God until were sick of doing ministry and turn and go the wrong way. This is SOOO basic yet SOO true!
She talked about how Gods wants people to be married to one person all their lives (God hates divorce, adultery etc!!!! YUCK!). God wants people not just in signs and wonders but character. She also said God is uniting the body of Christ, people from many different denominations etc God wants to bring together....
Also, she said God is a good father and wants to give us big things. So we need to ASK BIIIIGGGG!!!!! She said she asked for a nation and God gave it to her...she asked to be the most loving wife and mother on the planet...what are you asking for???
Then she had us all pray for each other, for whatever destiny was on our lives. i am called to media stuff, partly, like writing, music, etc so people pr'yd for me and i was crying again...totally wrecked by God and the incredible plan he has on me. then she had all the people who were called to the poor orphans, missions, etc. to kneel. josh and i did...once again weeping. God is doing so much in us and imparting so much to us! I just love HIM and all I wanna do is glorify Him with my life and live to KNOW and BE KNOWN by HIM, growing in love, power, character, and glory!!!

thoughts on my life and my marriage...
God is so good! Josh and I have been married for 2.5 years now...almost 3! And I have known Joshua my husband for almost 4 years :-)! We have an amazing story of how we came together! We're now currently living in Redding, CA going to the Bethel Supernatural School of Ministry...so what have I been learning?
1. The #1 thing I have learned the most here is my identity in Christ. The blood of Jesus made me a new creation. I am a child, an heir of everything in God's kingdom. I am totally pure and righteous. I am seated in heavenly places and have all authority over evil and can change circumstances as I speak life over them. I am a Royal Daughter, a true Princess/Queen! Becaese of and by the blood of Jesus, I have access to run into my Daddy's arms and ask Him anything I need to anytime I need to...because I am now His. I am his honey, his beloved daughter and He dotes on me! He cares about everything I care about, and hears and answers every prayer, every requests, and gives me all I need and grants all my desires as I delight in Him! He gives me every request prayed in faith! Its amazing! He's such a GOOD GOOD DADDY!!!
2. The next biggest thing is that God's teaching me many truths about my marriage and how to be a wife. I am really learning how to be a godly wife!! It's awesome and I love it! Everything taught to me by the Holy Spirit the previous two years has been tested here, and it's now going from head knowledge to heart knowledge! Here are some truths He's been showing me the last 3.5 years:
a.when we call out to Him for help in regards to him leading us and giving us willing hearts to go HIS way, He will. Yes, He led me to marry Josh!! I love our marriage! Every part of it is miraculous!!! It would take forever to explain why but...that'll take too long :-) Also, when we cry out for him to help us and how us how to be wives to our hubbies, he WILL show us and give us the strength we need!!! It all comes from him...cry out when it seems impossible!!!
b. some secrets on being a wife: (I did not always learn this the easy way!!!!)
1. dont entertain anything negative about your husband or marriage or people around you. Those negative thoughts are intended to bring death, i.e discouragement to you and your hubby, and divide the both of you. Division is NEVER God. Unity is...So focus on the good things God is doing. Focus on the good traits God's put in your husband, whether giftings, physical, spiritual..anything good you can find!!!!! Choose to respect your husband. Cry out to God for help to do so. Then, thank God for those things. Hold on to those things and give Him the bad stuff. Cast down the negative and replace it with positive. Praise Him. Stay in a spirit of praise.
2. Speak only good things to your husband. No complaining, that's just focusing back on the devil and yourself more than serving and glorifying what Gods doing. The devil would love to get you to exalt what hes doing. DONT DO IT!!! Instead, Praise your husband when he does good things, amazing things, etc. Tell him the good things you're thinking about him. Show him you respect him by the words of praise and encouragement that come from your mouth. Speak good about your life, what God's doing, the people around the both of you, everything good you can. Speak LIFE not death. What you focus on, you empower. It WILL get bigger. As you focus on the good in your hubby, it will grow and the bad stuff will begin to fall away.
3. Arguing is not from God. Arguing comes from asserting your own way instead of laying down your life for the other person. It also can come from control, which is based on fear. Submit to your husband, do what he wants to do. In doing this you show respect for him, show that you believe he has what it takes to be the leader, and you trust his decisions, you like his ideas. As you submit to him, and dont try to manipulate him or control him, you are obeying Gods word, and you will find he will want to lay down his life for you, and WILL begin doing what you want, too. Good seeds in your hubby WILL bear good fruit. Be patient!
4. God wants man and wife to be one. Division and divorce is NEVER Him. Unity is. The bible says that when we are one, the world will know Jesus is who He says He is! Our love and unity WILL get people saved!!! so if you think arguing with your hubby is no big deal, IT IS!!! little things like how to make the bed or what color to paint the walls...you can submit to him in that, with Gods help. and you will see that he'll want to do things more and more your way, too... :-)
5. There are times to not submit to your hubby--only if what he's doing/wants you to do is completely contrary to God's word AND is a life and death issue. Cry out to God for courage and strength, and speak to him out of love, respect, and gentleness. It should sound like a gentle and loving appeal, cuz that's the way the Holy Spirit treats us. This is how we should treat our hubbies!!! This is not a license to disobey Gods word. God's Word clearly in 1 Pe 3 says for us not to preach at our hubbies. In other words, If our hubbies disobey God's word, were not to be their conscience. We're to pray for them and focus on what WE need to do right before pointing out their wrongs. But I believe if it involves a life and death issue, which would cause us to sin, we are to speak out in an appeal. But if its done in anger, rebellion or control, youre not following God and your hubby probably wont feel respected so wont listen. Once you've developed a pattern of submission, love, honor, esteem and respect for your husband, he will be ready listen to your heart cries over moral issues!!!
6. Live in a LIFESTYLE of forgiveness. Know you are just as capable of every sin your husband has done, and probably have done worse things to him than he has to you!! WALK in a lifestyle of repentance. SAY sorry immediately...ask God for the grace for you guys to walk in forgiveness and repentance.
7. Second-guessing your marriage is NEVER God. it is EXTREMELY demonic, and these thoughts are lies--demons from satan intended to divide you, to end your marriage. Cast these thoughts down. It is God's PERFECT will for you to be married to your husband. Believing I'm supposed to be married to Josh is the "8-BALL" of truth I am to hold on to! No matter what the situation is, He has a BEAUTIFUL glorious and HEAVENLY plan for you! The Bible shows us we need to stay anchored in HOPE and rooted and grounded in LOVE for our spouse. All mistakes, HE HAS washed under the blood!!!
8. Talk and reminisce about the good times! Focus on those amazing times. However, The things your husband has already repented of, DONT drag them out of the past and remind him of them...forgive quickly and stay in forgiveness, see your husband through the blood of Jesus...do what Jesus does: He washed him clean and obliterated the sins with His blood. These things are under the blood and reminding him of his past sins is partnering with the accuser of the brethren, Satan, and making your hub by focus on them (which may lead to it happening again!)!
9. Tell your hubby why you married him in the first place...what attracted u to him?
10. Make declarations/pray over your marriage every day that lines up with the Word (For example, I declare that/ask you God today that today Josh and I would be anchored in Hope and Rooted and Grounded in Love and that we would have an Ephesians 5 marriage!!!) !!
11. Pray for your husband daily but DOnT let the enemy use this to get oyu focused on his mistakes!
12. Give and talk to Daddy God about your hurts, ask him to heal your heart! And ask Him for wisdom daily! Ask God for help all the time!!! Stay dependant on Him knowing you cant do anything without Him!!! Cry out, He will save!!!
13. Renounce fear, daily if necessary. God doesn't want us to submit out of fear or do ANYTHING else out of fear. Fear of man doesnt produce the fruit God wants in our marriages or any relationships. That will only produce resentment. Truly serving your husband out of a heart of love is way more fruitful, Ask God to help you recognize when its fear and RESIST FEAR. Make sure its out of LOVE always!
Josh and I were really blessed to spend a 4 day, 3 night vacation at the Gold Bluffs beach campground in Orick, CA, right where the famous Redwoods are. God put it on Josh's heart 2 take me there. It was SOOO perfect. It was there that I put the above
truths into practice, and we saw these truths bear amazing fruit....
**my identity...I declared from my authority as a Queen that that there would be good weather. There had been forecasted bad weather. For the days we stayed there, we had good weather. The ranger spoke with us and was amazed that we had timed it so well. Most of the time, the weather is rainy or foggy, even in the summer. The before we came and the day we left was cloudy/rainy. When we got there, we kept telling the clouds to leave. After a couple hours, they DID and we had a clear starry sky that night and lots of sun that day! Also, we commanded the wind to die down. After a couple hours or so, IT DID! The guy camping close to us said he was so glad it did. Josh was able to tell both the ranger and the guy camping that we had PRAYED.
I prayed to find a whole (not broken) sand dollar, and Josh found one!! Josh prayed to see a seal pup, and he did! Its cute little head popped up right in front of where we were by the ocean!
Josh and I had our first date on 7.21.06 and our wedding on 7.21.07...the number 7, which means perfection, has been a huge part of our marriage...while on our trip we found 77 cents in pennies dimes and quarter!! haha!!! how cool of God!
God spoke to me about HIs love as i sat by the ocean...He is like the ocean. We can throw our troubles and cares and sins into the vastness of His love, and HE WILL COVER THEM, SWaLlOW THEM aLL UP with HIS AMAZING LOVE!!! His love is SO GREAT it will swallow up every bad thing and still love us MORE AND MORE!!!! God showed Josh as he found a starfish, driftwood, and other ocean treasures, that HIS WORD is like the ocean...it is full of treasures, and He is just waiting to take us "exploring" deeper into His Word!!
Also, after I had read about Jesus' prayer that we would be one so the world would believe in Jesus, three birds flew over the ocean, all in perfect unity...I felt God was saying its Josh, me and Jesus!! We need to stay in unity with each other and Jesus.
Without realizing it, I had made footprints of a figure 8 while praying..then right after that I turned in the Bible to Acts 8:8 which said "and their was great joy in that city"...the verse before explains how God was setting people free. God is setting Josh and I free of lies, and we will have great joy as a result!!! Also, 8 is the number of new beginnings!!! YAY!!!
The whole time was beautiful...we camped right by the ocean but were nestled behind some trees to keep us warm from the wind coming from the ocean, perfect campsite!! took lots of walks there, ran through the waves crashing in (Josh took a dive..me--no thanks! too cold! haha)..had lots of warm fires and cooked our food over it..played guitar by the fire under the stars...
we hiked in Fern Canyon--it was like a fairy world!! and we took a 6-mile hike in the beautiful Redwood forest, i felt like i had shrunk!!! While hiking, we prayed that we could be strong, stedfast, enduring like these gigantic, beautiful Redwoods (some were 2,000 years old!!!! WOW!!! without dying!). We wondered, what is the secret of the Redwoods? We found out from reading our handout that they ENTERTWINE THEIR ROOTS to other trees around them, and gather strength from them. GOd spoke to us so powerfully through this!!! Josh and I need each other! Spouses need each other if they want to be strong and enduring!! Also, we need the body of Christ!!
While on the trip, I found myself developing a pattern on submission, love, respect and speaking only words of life over Josh. We talked and reminisced over the good times we've had since knowing each other..I told him why I married him...the real reasons why he's so amazing to me...we were crying...it was beautiful!!
The fruit of all this was wonderful and amazing....Josh told me that it was the best time he's EVER EVER had with me since he's known me!!!! WOW...I only want to grow in this! PTL!!!!

PTL!!!!

CHURCH IN AFRICA
These kids at the Maputo base in Mozambique, Africa (With Iris Ministries) have church on Monday, Thursday and Sunday, and wow, God gives them a FEAST of His presence every time, it’s amazing! He’s raising up the poor to own the Riches of His kingdom. The first worship service we went to had kids in the front packing out the altar and dancing these amazing in-sync African fun dances. I felt God’s presence so strong and a hunger for more of Him was stirred up in me. I wept as I thought about these kids and how little they have naturally but how they are the richest ones on this earth. I thought, I want what they have!
“Bush” Outreach: On our 1st weekend, we went to an overnight “bush” outreach. There we visited and encouraged two just-planted churches. The congregations that our leader, Pedro pastored, were made up mostly of children!
The first church was a little hut where we met together to pray. Afterward, we just played with the kids in the dirt, and sang songs with them.
The second church, just a few buildings down from the place where Josh and I stayed, was a simple concrete-room building with no door and three walls (one side was just wide open).
First, we had a service with the kids. God gave Josh a special word for them which he shared. That night, before we fell asleep in the tent we brought, Pedro’s wife made some ground peanut & coconut dish in their house, and Pedro shared stories by the light of a ancient looking oil lamp, about food multiplication and God raising the dead, and how God miraculously brought him and his wife together.
The next day, we just loved on the kids. I drew pictures and played with them. Josh did too, and he also took lots of video of the place where we stayed.
Wells are in the ground, where the water has to be drawn up by a rope, like Biblical times, and it feels like we went back in time since there is no electricity or running water and the toilet is a hole in the ground. And it’s very deserty and hot with little vegetation. The children’s clothes are often dirty and torn, and many of them fend for themselves. There, in the “bush-bush” of Africa, I learned that all we really need is Jesus--that He will provide for his kids even where it seems impossible to survive!
Children’s Center:The first outreach we did, was to another children’s center which Iris helped start (but it is not an Iris base), where Josh and I did face painting after a church service and gave out balloons. The kids went CRAZY over this (they loved it)!!!! Josh also shared about why Jesus is the most important thing in his life to them during the service, and we introduced ourselves to them.
THE SUITCASES
On the first day, we got settled in, and dropped off two extra suitcases loaded with toys, clothes, school supplies, etc. that we were donating for the children. We were glad to be rid of the extra luggage and put it into hands that needed it!
TRASH DUMP (called “Bocaria” in Portugese): The trash dump is this very long city dump, where people live and scavenge for food, clothes, and other items of value. There Iris has built a church, where we worshipped and sang, with kids pretty much fighting each other for even one minute of us holding and hugging and loving them (they are starving for love, not just food!).
The kids that know Jesus are so full of joy! They are more joyful than many in the States! And more loving, too! This tells me, we don’t need anything more than Jesus! He is everything!
With two kids each in our arms (then rotating for another set of kids), Josh and I tried to worship with the songs they sang, the sweat dripping from our faces (it was a hot day!). Flies were everywhere. After we introduced our names and loved on the kids, the pastor of the dump, once a “dump” child himself, preached an in-depth sermon over the noisy raucous of the kids, straight from the Bible. Then we passed out bread, and the little ones nearly trampled each other to get the bread. I have never seen such physical hunger. I noticed at least one tummy that was swollen from starvation. At the end, Josh gave out candy and a soccer ball for the kids to share there.
Then we divided into two groups--one would go to the people’s huts surrounding the dump where people lived, and another to the highest point of the dump where we would pray and ask God who to speak to. Josh felt led to go to a man who I call “the Coconut man”. He was surrounded by coconut shells! (Different people find different things, some sell plastic pieces, others fragments of coconuts, etc.) We talked with him and prayed for him.
Josh then met a man whose English name is Justin. They began to talk, and Josh found out he is a Christian who lives in the dump living off of collecting plastic. His English is good because he has learned from scraps of paper he found in the dump. He was also trying to find a roof for the place where he “stayed”. Josh was able to give him his own pocket English bible and a shirt and other items to help him along. He gave us his prayers and some prophetic words for us and the church of the West.
When we got back, we noticed that our nostrils were black from inhaling the burning garbage for only two hours. (There is no place on earth I wanted (physically) to never go back to again so badly). I don’t know how people can live there 24-7! I was so thankful for a cold shower when I got back! But I know God will probably want us to go back to be with his children!
A SPECIAL WORD
One night, a man was preaching to the children, and was saying how God has called many people to be preachers of His gospel--of preaching Jesus Christ and Him crucified. God had just been speaking to Josh about that, so at the end we went up to the altar, along with the kids at the center! We got prayer from him and God moved mightily to confirm our calling to preach!
Also, The Sunday before we left, a man came and preached to the kids about having a dream for your life from God. He spoke about how Joseph, before being sold as a slave, had been given a dream from God. He knew God had big plans for him and was able to trust God even when things got hard or temptations came. When Potifar’s wife tried to seduce him, he refused because he knew it would mess up his dream God had given him. He related this to all kinds of temptations and stuff that the kids in Africa face. Drugs, sex etc. The presence of God was strong. Lots and lots of kids came up, crying out to God for a vision for their life, for a dream. I just wanted then to be used of God to impart dreams and visions for them.
I was weeping. I wanted God also to give me his dream just for me. I wanted breakthrough in personal areas of my life. So yeah I needed an encounter with God too.
The head of the Bible school came up to me and gave me a direct word from the Father. It confirmed my calling and also was an affirmation that God was going to bring breakthrough in those areas, too. Afterwards, a little girl came up to me and hugged me. The love of God flowed freely from her to me. Her arms were Jesus’ arms. It was amazing. I was being ministered to by her! I don’t even know her name but I will never forget her…
Text-only version of our newsletter:
Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support! God answered prayers for His kingdom coming, salvations, healings, strength, vision and us not getting sick (Malaria is a problem there!). Also everything was provided for before we left! Thanks so much! For two weeks, from Aug. 25-Sep. 8, we were in Maputo , Mozambique in AFRICA, with IRIS Ministries . It went by like Haley’s Comet! It was beautiful, fast, and powerful--a life changing event for us and many others! We got back on September 10th, after two days of almost non-stop travel, one van, 4 airplanes, 2 layovers, 3 countries, lots of walking in airports, a bus, and a car! But it was all worth it…God did so much on this trip! OUR FRIENDS IN THE CENTERWe decided each day to eat in the cafeteria with the kids. The diet is: a loaf of bread per person in the morning with yummy tea, rice with a topping for lunch, and rice with a topping for dinner. We bought fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement the high starch diet! On the second day, still recovering from jetlag, we ventured out into our children’s center playground, and there we made our first Mozambican friends, about 8 little girls. They entered our world and us theirs by doing our hair into very tight little braids (it took about 3 hours at least--we were sore after but they did a beautiful job). The girls were our friends for the remainder of our stay and some even called us “mommy and daddy”! We held them, hugged them, played with them, and told them how much Jesus loves them! If you want to pray for them by name, they are: Maizinia, Jentrudie, Rosa, another Rosa, Ulga, Mercia, Regina, and Beniah (there were a couple other girls too but they didn’t hang out with us as much). We also showed the boys and girls pictures of our engagement and marriage. The girls and boys hardly see any affection between non-Christian couples there. It’s against their culture to show public affection between couples or even between/toward kids. So they would giggle happily and love to see our love for each other. Whenever they wanted us to kiss each other, they would all start yelling, “me beige”! (kiss!!) Joshua made friends with the young guys there, too, by playing basketball and soccer (mostly basketball) every few days, and just hanging out with them and eating daily at the base. It was hard for Josh to leave and he misses them now…and I am sure they miss him too! He especially made friends with a 16 year old guy named Anuncio. Anuncio loves to play basketball, can do amazing gymnastic flips, loves Jesus and really found a friend he could share things with in Josh. He’s very funny and crazy and Josh and him bonded quickly, and made each other laugh alot. Josh was able to share God-things with Anuncio, which he received openheartedly! OUTREACHESBesides making friends at the children’s center, we also signed up to some outreaches within Mozambique . Here’s a couple of the outreaches: Hospital Outreaches: We went on two hospital outreaches. On the first outreach, our leader (Domingos, who grew up with Iris, once a street kid but now a powerful preacher of the gospel), bought bananas for the hospital workers and the patients we would minister to. We divided up into a women’s team and a men’s team. As we prayed and laid hands on the sick, I and some others were able to give out a couple prophetic words as we prayed for them. Later we found out that there were testimonies of healing from the time we went (we aren’t sure how many, but at least two were a lot better, one lady’s leg was very swelled up and it went down and someone’s eyes got better). Praise Jesus! On Josh’s team (the guys), in every room they went to, Josh and the other men took turns to share the gospel and ask people to receive Jesus. In each room, almost every hand was raised! People there are so hungry for Jesus and accepting of Him. Wow! They want Him! This also happened on the second hospital outreach we went on! Prison Outreach: On this outreach, the guards brought all the prisoners out of their dark, dreary prison cells and had them sit against a wall. Then our leaders passionately and simply shared the gospel with them. Many wept and were so broken and raised their hands to receive Jesus. The presence of God was strong as we laid our hands on them, and prayed for them. Then we gave them loaves of bread, two each, and then some more until our big bag was empty! COMPASSION FOR A CALL A couple times when hanging out with the children at the Maputo base, I felt God’s love and compassion well up my heart, making me want to cry. There are 300 kids there altogether who have been rescued from abandonment, the streets, drugs, the trash dump, and other situations. While Jesus is their “mom and dad” right now, God can use us to be HIS hands and feet to them and givethem the love they need. Joshua said he experienced that compassion too…One day while there, he told me he feels God is leading us to go back for the school, then a two year commitment. I feel the Lord leading in this direction, too. Please keep us in prayer for His perfect will in all this! Thanks for being a part of our trip to Africa ! We give God all the glory for the amazing things He did!
